    Yip sure did,was in two minds about going this morning,the thought of the rivers being out of action for another week spurred me to get out of bed at 4am..glad I did :D

    A real bugger,who knows how many fish have made it to safe ground above the gorge? I remember in 97 going to the hydra waters in early Dec trout fishing and there was 100s of fresh silver salmon in the stream already,they had run straight up the river on the back of some big freshes and been completely missed by anglers..mind you it was a cracker of a season..but you never know!..anyway lets hope this is the last fresh for a couple of weeks.

    If they are up there they must have taken the bus I go out to the river every other day and I aint seen diddley.

    mainly the rakaia ( I live on Rakaia Terrace Road) and the ashburton
    I got 1 from the surf at the start of jan but have been fishing up river since then

    Well I guess as a positive the % of salmon caught this season by anglers will be well down,who knows in 3 yrs time we may have a good return..or it could be just wishful thinking on my part!!
