ParticipantBeen doing long overdue gear maintenance, and was replacing the tip lights.
Just curious where does everybody mounts theirs?
I use to put mine halfway below the second to top guide, with the light facing down. This time I decided to put them below the 3rd guide. Main reasons, the guides are slightly further from the rod so reduces the chance of it being line wrapped.

Participantmine are between the 2nd and 3rd guide i think. always take it off prior to casting and have not had any problems with it getting wrapped

ParticipantI wrapped mine on with electrical tape so difficult to move. Can not really remember what situation the occasional wraps occur. Think mainly when these a bit of slack combined with wind, or maybe when I laid the rod down on the beach to release a fish. They mainly only nuisance value

ParticipantI find when preparing for a cast there would be no (or reduced) release of line when the bail arm is lifted if the line has wrapped itself.
