Hey there, I’m looking for a bit of advice from anyone?

I’m planning a fishing trip to stony bay at the top of the coromandel and i’m planning on staying at the doc campground. Very shortly I’m gona be getting a baitrunner 6500b and a beast master 10ft.

I have never done a lot of rock fishing and was wondering what sort of baits I should use? What will last the longest in a chillie bin? How to find a good rock to fish off ect?

    Anything would be helpful,

    Cheers Kent

I have no experience with the cormandel so can not offer location advice.

But buy good quality pilchards and keep them on ice, you should be able to get away with fishing without a sinker.

Set up a burley when you first arrive, and you should be able to catch more fresh bait. Having a light rod for bait catching could be a advantage…. Maybe also consider sending out a livebait for a kingfish if they are around.
