Hi all.
Which part of the tide is best for fishing a river mouth? I have read the incoming tide is best then read something about out going being good also.
Does it matter for different species?
It depends… to many variables and each river mouth is different. Low tide can be good because the fish are concentrated into a smaller area and the channels are more defined. During periods of higher flows the fish might only enter the river over high when the salt content is higher… I have experienced good and bad fishing over all tides in all conditions, fish are fish and they would be there when they want.
