I’m planning on heading up to the Waitaki mouth this summer and hopefully catch myself a salmon, anything I may need or advise would be appreciated,

I have never targeted sea-run salmon spin fishing in any river [only in Dunedin harbour], all I was going do do was use 55gm ticers on a 12ft rod surfcasting, and a 7ft rod spin fishing with a white/silver zed spinner and 25lb line on both rods. And wading out into the river slightly [so as ot to get swept away]

Any points you would like to make?
