ParticipantHi,
New to the forum. We spend a week or two at Orari over Christmas and would like some ideas on surfcasting options in the area, ideas on the best baits would be helpful too. Fished Brown’s Beach in the past without much success. Cheers

Participantnothing wrong with browns beach , about four miles off there is the best area for huge cow ellies , at xmas the fish processing companys are having their break , the fishing boats are tied up ,best time ,the fish move in and out .i was a commercial fisherman out of timaru , use squid or prawns , and fish the change of light morn or evening, or get some glow sticks tape them on the back side of your rod tip an fish in the dark

ParticipantGood fishing for Elephants at the end of Connolly road east of Temuka.
Use Crab,Prawn or Squid for Rig and Elephants and fish baits for Greyboys and Sevengillers.24/11/2011 at 5:18 am #19489freddyf
