While fishing for salmon off the Dunedin wharf I baited my rig up, and turned away to tie a swivel onto my mainline to clip onto the snap-lock on my rig- i turn back 20 seconds later to see a seagull, with a large float hanging to metres down, a baitfish in its mouth, and a hook in its beak, flying accross the harbour… my last float.
After watching it for several seconds I turn back to get a new baitfish and find another seagull choking down a large sprat.
My only one other one caught that day…
