Hi all
I’m wanting to take my young son fishing at Stewarts Gully – just for Yellow Eyed Mullet/Kahawai – he’s only a toddler so he doesn’t have the ability to cast and reel lures.
Do I need to still get a licence if we are only bait fishing with sabikis for these two species?
Cheers
no f&g are happy to see children fishing though you can get a form from any sports shop and probably down load it from f&g site to fill in as a licence for your boy. if you catch a salmon or trout you need to release it.
No you don’t need a licence , this topic comes up often ,
Get him a licence, they are free then if he manages a trout or Salmon he can keep it.
Thanks for all the help guys
