Here I am moaning about commercial fishermen again (the dirty mongrels), and correct me if I’m wrong. I went to two different supermarkets today, and there were the tiniest sole up for grabs, one was about 10cm! How can they legally take such a small fish that is nowhere near maturity? Most flatfish mature at around 25cm apparently.
It reminds me of a post by Zac a while back where he saw a commercial fishing boat that had caught young elephant fish – they should put a size limit on them too.
I just emailed MAF and Jim Anderton moaning about the lack of a size limit on some species. I wonder what they’ll come back with.
with jim anderton being its so close to the election he may nt come back at all
