I was fishing in Timaru today as well. Cought heaps of dogfish around caroline bay. Had a go off the breakwater as well but theres heaps of snags.
Whitebait Season starts 1 September 2026 and ends 30 October (inclusive). Chatham Islands: 1 December to the last day of February (inclusive)
