I have heard they can grow up to 200lb, but i’m not totally sure. Here is a picture of a 40kg one.

This enormous skate was caught by Liz Melrose while surfcasting at Coopers Lagoon near the Rakaia River mouth. It weighed a hefty 40kg and measured seven feet in length.
