New Permanent Public Access to the Whakapapa River Celebrated
A significant milestone for New Zealand’s outdoors was celebrated with the opening of a new, permanent public access point to the internationally renowned Whakapapa River at Stone Jug Road. Secured by Auckland/Waikato Fish & Game through an innovative funding model, this initiative permanently protects the riverfront property for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and outdoor recreation.
