Amazing Baits Ticers & Zed Spinners Review

The versatility of the 24g Amazing Baits Snake. I was fishing alongside Ben recently when salmon were rising just behind the breaker, changing to the lighter lure he was able to hang it behind the waves longer than the other surf fishermen around him and with the lighter gear, he was able to slow his retrieve rate right down while the lure kicked away perfectly. It wouldn’t have been more than 15 mins fishing using the snake when he hooked onto his first salmon of the season. The Amazing Baits Snake is available at all Amazing baits dealers South Island wide.

Amazing Baits Ticer Review

This is an excellent weight-forward salmon ticer. The brass hex rod has been cleverly cut so that the ticer is heavier at the front. This prevents the ticer from tumbling in flight and robbing it of casting distance. This video review is by Allan Burgess; a salmon angler with 30 years of experience.

You can see how all the weight is at the hook end of this Amazing Baits Ticer.

This salmon lure is designed for making very long distance casts out over the surf at river-mouths. Amazing Baits ticers have an excellent silvered finish, and they also available in several colours, including white, yellow and green. The coloured versions are powdered coated for extra resilience.

Being able to cast that extra distance can sometimes make all the difference when salmon/surf casting. On occasion the anglers with the best casting difference will catch the only salmon taken in the surf that day. A good example is when the shape of the river-mouth requires anglers to use their long rods to cast over the river into the surf behind it. On days like that only the best casters will take fish!
