Chinook Salmon and Brown Trout, Canterbury, NZ

Chinook Salmon and Brown Trout

This series of videos was taken in a Canterbury lowland stream on an autumn day during April 2015. Although the water was clear the fallen autumn leaves can be seen drifting through the pool.

A fresh sea run Chinook returning the spawn and other juvenile salmon were observed cohabiting a pool with brown trout of various sizes. Video made by and courtesy of Kevin Belcher.
