just had a couple of nice searuns from the mak, biggest 4.5lb…..but I lost my rod and reel…just fekking dropped it…gone..just gone…so if anyone fishes out a abu rod and reel setup from below the mak bridges…i’ll buy ya a beer for it back!!
Had a wander up the waimak past the motorbike track area this afternoon, a few fishy looking bits of water, but no fish for my efforts. The water is pretty coloured, started on fly switched to rapalas, no joy, good day not to be at work though

went to have a look for a perch on forsyth today, which turned into a disaster as the dog jumped into what looked like scum, but think was algae bloom…which is not good for dogs..abandoned trip….all looked really shallow though on the road side..might need a few tips Mr Sharkslayer is you would be so kind. plenty of fish around this morning at mak rocks, most from where Kaiapoi river joins, some from boats. A lovely fish 20lb+ from the rocks. Some bloke lost a nice fish when his line snapped, best thing was the girlie strop he threw afterwards, legend!
