I&#8217;m sure it happens coz plenty of people say they do it so one day I&#8217;ll see it happen im sure. I only get one or two a season despite many hundreds of hours trying but the way I see it I have a lot of years to perfect the art of enticing more hits. When I do I&#8217;ll consider letting a few go.</p>

The fish aren&#8217;t always on the bottom at Mackies. Depending on the tide and river flow you might need to adjust your casting angle to suit the current.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Spent from 11.30 til 3.30 at Mackies, saw 1 landed and 1 lost on the point and 1 from a boat straight off the point. Went up below the bridges for a look and spotted fish sitting in a deep hole. There was one pair which were quite large and most likely salmon but hard to keep up with them to get a good look.</p>

<p>A nice 15lber my mate got from Mackies last Sunday. I got fed up not catching anything so we went for a hoon up river and found some quiet water to park up to get a pic and clean the fish.</p>

There were only four others out so we still got a good park and killed the time by cooking bacon and egg sammies on the bbq before the sun came up.
