where are the kahawai

    ive been to many diffrent spots but havent yet caught a kahawai. i recon i should try the rakaia. dose any one know a good spot :?: :?: :?:

    waimac mouth …..all the snow fed rivers are filthy to the north , and no doubt the south …..

    Kaikoura is kahawai city ….no joy up there today tho …birds were a little down the beach , but we lost interest fast with the 115 km/hr winds

    kaikoura heading north , over the hill and thru town …….beach rd turns into old beach road ..past the saw mill a km maybe 2 ….walk out the creek bed ……

    salted half pilchards …

    carry some lures too ……often the schools come cruising past in close……

    evening and moring are best ……so a sleepover is a great idea …..
