I’ll probably be heading that way a couple of times this month, was planning on having one rod with crab and one with fish bait and/or squid with larger hooks. Haven’t caught a decent sized school shark yet.

Tides are not great for this weekend , I dont mind fishing the outgoing tide if its calm tho

Yeah, 6:00-7:00 high tides aren’t too flash, the weekend after should be a lot better. Had much luck on the outgoing tide out there? I usually avoid it unless I’m still catching fish after high tide.

Where I took you , the tide doesnt really make any difference at all …..its just when its rough I find the outgoing tide , as it shifts the dropoff further from the hightide mark , your line or baits can get buried …and thats something that really gives me the shits lol

Looks like I’ll be kayak fishing in Kaikoura this weekend. Will send you a text next week if I’m thinking of going to Bayleys.
