I recently changed from my trusty old hollow glass flyrod to a graphite one.
Graphite rods do conduct electricity, especially electric fences.
I got a hell of a belt of a cattle fence, had my hand tingling for about half an hour
Lol, never had the pleasure but one of my rods carries a warning label “BEWARE OF OVERHEAD POWER CABLES CARBON FIBRE CONDUCTS ELECTRICITY” along with a lighting bolt symbol.
I can remember hearing about some yanks that got fried by a lighting bolt that hit them while fishing in a thunderstorm in some lake….might have been the rods might have been the boat.
well you’ll remember it for next time thats for sure…
I got a zap from my rod on opening day
