Hi Guys, I am just letting you know a mate has started “NZ salmon fishing reports” on Facebook. He gets info from fish and game and other sources about the salmon conditions. Its quite handy.

saw 1 salmon caught on a boat at macintoshs this morning. caught a small about 2lb searun, it was very happy when I released it. searun seem to have taken a liking to a new patterned zed I painted up, twice have picked up trout on first cast using it. might have to paint up some trout lures in that pattern.

We counted over 60 fishermen between the Waimak sh1 bridge and the mouth yesterday evening. Only saw 1 searun caught! So… where’s these elusive salmon? Maybe they’ve become too smart for us – good on them!
