I’ve had to replace a couple Tip rings before, and one actual line guide. But I had the tip ring crack on my Shimano Beastmaster on Friday, and I tried the usual heating the metal bit slightly and just pulling it off, but it seemed the rod material heated too much and ended up just snapping off the end bit. Just wondering if this is because it’s graphite not fiber glass? Anyway I just sanded the end bit so it’s smooth and ready to put a new tip guide on.
I had a similar problem with a Daiwa Eliminator, these contain some graphite. I think I melted the resins or whatever they use to bond the various materials together.
