Has anyone fished or driven over the Rakaia today? I’m keen to know what the colour is like so I can decide between there and the canals for tomorrow.

not bad the big one was fresh run and in good nick the others were fat enough.
The mouth is close to the southern end I caught all mine closer to the south huts while the tide was low between 12 and 2.
I posted pics in the trout section

I helped a guy land a nice fish about 5lb. He was stoked coz it was his second fish in 3 casts on a vibrax that a kind chap had given him a few days prior at the same spot when he was having no luck. Looked very similar to the vibrax you were using baitman.

I got a couple on Tuesday night and 1 on Sunday morning. There is every chance of getting a salmon when you are fishing the gut for searuns so its great to hear they are there.
