What is the best time of the day to go here and the best bait also what fish do you catch down here

You catch the same fish you catch at every other beach around canterbury. If you’re looking for something to eat the best bait at these beaches is crab, you’ll catch elephant fish and rig on it and generally don’t have to worry about the dogfish. You’ll also get elephant fish on shellfish baits and occasionally on squid. At the right time of the year you can also get good sized school sharks using fish baits.

The first 2-3 , and the last 2-3 hrs of daylight ….and in the dark …..

Unless the water is filthy , then the rig will be around during the day ….

There will always be exceptions ….but as a rule of thumb I try to avoid the 9am-6pm hours … unless super bored lol
