I was thinking of going to pines beach sometime, heard there were rig out there, didn’t know what the numbers were like though.
Has anyone been there and is it good fishing?

Participantthink your starting to get a little bit late and have missed the main season, though there will still be some around but proberbly not in the numbers there was a couple of months ago, good luck though

ParticipantYeah I might go out to pines beach soon. It’s not as far from Christchurch as birdlings flat. I’ll get back into surfcasting next summer.

Participantyea that is tru but it is alot more shallow ALOT so fishing the rips gutters channels and holes would be the way to go. provided you know what too look for

Participantahhh dogfish during winter along with red cod. there would be kahawai at times along with mullet and proberbly skate.. some school sharks also could be there sevengillers wouldn suprise me
