Something a bit different I found while looking for info on the lake thought I’d share.04/10/2012 at 7:52 pm #21671burkefishParticipant
I have over the years seen some very large eels in the lake and I mean large around 2 metres, they seem a lot fatter than eels that live in a constant river flow.05/10/2012 at 5:30 pm #21674
2m is a fricken big eel!!!
I saw a big one maybe 1.5m but really fat in lake selfe (swam past me as i was launching my float tube!! not impressed )
I have seen in one of kevo’s vids him hanging a trout in the water off his float tube wouldnt want that bugger taking an intrest if u were out in the middle.05/10/2012 at 7:31 pm #21675burkefishParticipant
one august fishing at coleridge along the harper river side at a deep drop off, my mate was gutting a couple of salmon. I thought ‘ that log wasn’t there a minute ago’, then it moved, that was the biggest eel I have ever seen- would have been close to 2metres. I have caught large eels as a kid at freezing work outlets behind the belfast pub- but this one was far bigger than any of them.08/10/2012 at 10:48 pm #21701smokin’ joeParticipant
