Heard thru the grapevine that Lake Brunner is having yet another fantastic year,

Last year it was to easy almost to easy catch fish, average being around 3-4lb, biggest we caught topping 7lb.

Hamills killer behind a float will do tha job, toss it out and reel in very slowly.

Planning a few trips there this summer so hope to keep you updated.

Fished Brunner on the weekend, 3 Browns, 2 just shy of 3lb and one just over. Hoping to head back this weekend for a couple more fish, hopefully a little bigger this time!

Fished Brunner weekend just passed. Doesnt seem to be holding the big fish or numbers it did last summer. Only fished the sat night and got a nice 3 1/2lb brownie in really good nick. Back in a couple weeks for a night then later in Jan for a few more days.

Pretty much, some come out of the water a really great golden color with spots, looks amazing. I really rate Brunners fish, easily the best tasting trout Ive ever had.

Its all the cow crap making them that colour, ha ha caught a nice 4 pounder down south westland , it was a pure gold colour and the flesh was more orange then salmon.
