ParticipantI use the Snell knot for the hook connection, then to the swivel I use a Clinch knot. I also often use crimps.

ParticipantI find that some lines will work well with one knot better then another .
Suffix zippy snells well and works great with a uni knot but I cant get a clinch knot to work well for me….
Try out the various suggestions of snell/uni/clich etc and see what works best for the line you have .

ParticipantCheers guys, got the 80lb leader from the warehouse! ryoshi, though it snapped out of the case and got tangles, spen about 2 hours untangling it all for the sake of $10 of line.

Participantcheers guys i tested and found the snell is great for attaching the hook, and uni knot is good for swivels.

Participant80lb is easy enough to tie simple knots etc in, but once you get to the heavier line you’re probably better off with crimps.
