How do you guys get your berley out deep on the east coast surf beaches. A good throw barely gets a burley pot past the first breaker and using a kayak or similar boat is a lot of hassle.
The small “castable” pots seem to be to tiny to be of much use.
Also what pots / berley do you guys typically use.
Another important question. How beneficial is berley for surfcasting from surfbeaches?
i never bother to use it at all aye the old bait can help when thrown back in or even just sitting a burley bag
The other option is to use a strong rod and make up a net bag of burly tie it on and cast it out otherwise berly seems to be of little use as the swells and currents tend to take it away from where your fishing.
I use the gemini sinkers and freeze muslin bags with berley in to them. works a treat for getting berley just where you want it.
