Lets just compare the two directly. The black bar on the fishingmag forum side represents the total amount of the facebook group which is actually “discussion”, the rest of the facebook page is menus 5%, adverts 10%, Friend list 5%, or unused blank space.

Yes you are right about the layout differences Thomas, but the facebook page is so much easier to load pics, single or multiple.
The extra ads on it dont bother most people cos they simply ignore them and only read what they want to.I coudnt even tell
you what they are advertising as I ignore them completely. Its really good to get a heads up on fishing as it is happening. The keen ones let you know what fish are being caught as it happens. So whilst facebook is not perfect most prefer its speed and content.
So there! lol10/05/2012 at 5:29 am #20943

Thanks for the poke in the eye with a sharp stick Mili, actually, I was trying to quantify your bloody ramblings about some black line and discussion so I could actually understand your dribble.
Thanks also for the second eye poke, my browser history is not as your implication may suggest and that in itself shows you may in fact know a bit more about that topic too??
I personally don’t give a fat rats for anyone coming on here and slamming other members’ choices of their social media whether it be Facebook or selected forums.
Who do you think you are standing on your pedestal expressing your self proclaimed greatness about all this mindless crap anyway.
The whole point as I recall stemmed from the lack of site moderation on spammers on this site and the preference some members had circulating on an alternative social media option……. then, you appeared.
Go fishing and chill out.10/05/2012 at 7:39 am #20945

Sadly Mili, your petty retort leaves a sour taste in many cases.
If you can’t substantiate your petty reply, I suggest you consider watching what you accuse others of, especially in public media.
If you don’t like Facebook, who cares. Others here are well justified in their comments earlier in this thread, which incidentally was about Lead for sinkers until it was hijacked by an uncontrolled spammer.
Why not post a thread expressing your thoughts on Facebook since you despise it so much. I bet no-one would post a response to it.
Why? Coz this is a FISHING SITE where members can share information on stuff about FISHING!!
AND as I am a member, just as you are, if I have something to share about anything fishing, expect to see it just as you write your ramblings about fishing expecting us all to be impressed with your offering.
Now where is the emoticon for raspberries…….10/05/2012 at 10:34 am #20947baitmanParticipant
Been wanting to use that for a while.
Who would have thought Free Lead for Weights???10/05/2012 at 11:49 am #20948
I have never started a topic on using another community, and nor would I. I am here for the fishing, but would defend the integrity of this community from the likes of you when required. Greg made a valid point regarding the spam, but I disagreed with shutting this forum down and using facebook instead, then you turned up and started to throw one of your now trademark tantrums throwing insults and adding very little to the discussion. I know you do not like this forum, you have said so several times already so please leave it to the ones who find it a worthwhile place for discussion.
Should of done this a long time ago. But its bittersweet, I know your negativity would continue to fester away.10/05/2012 at 9:06 pm #20949troutfishernzParticipant
All this forum needs is a couple of moderaters who visit the site regularly to clean up the spam and it would be great.
Its sad that the facebook page has more active users than this forum.
getting back to the topic,I have been making sinkers out of old lead roof nail heads, Made my own wooden molds and used a heat gun to melt the lead.11/05/2012 at 7:47 am #20953
Reply to the throw insult and run for cover Milichicken, go suck eggs you horrible little man.
I/we have done more for the NZ fishing tackle industry since 1979 than you ever will with your constant shit slinging and rock throwing and attempts to run someone else’s forum.
If you want to hijack a topic piss off and start it under another heading for yourself elsewhere.
I personally fully endorse this forum and all the good it brings and freely expose the negative tossers that throw crap to the wind thinking they are God.
Further I am hot on the spammers that frequent these threads un-moderated and will take full poetic licence against any of them!
Save yourself the energy of further souring this forum by going bloody fishing and leave other innocent members alone, yes I am talking to you Thomas, one who doesn’t have the guts to show his face or be true to himself let alone others.
Your constant negativity is not needed here.11/05/2012 at 10:00 am #20954
I have asked allan in the past to make me a mod to at least try get onto of the spam, it was good for a while but at times allan seems to be here once in a blue moon, Shark-tale/steve was doing a good job for a while, not too sure where he is or myabe hes just sick of it and has given up caring as facebook now days gets more people on it,11/05/2012 at 10:22 am #20955
Shark_Tail has not be on since February, and Yellowfin has not be on the last couple of days hence why the Spam has not been removed. Until he decides to add more Mods the only thing to do is “Report Spam post”, and if the user is flooding add them to your foe list.
