Breakout sinkers are the way to go when fishing Around South Canterbury well worth the extra money. I used to fish with a spoon shaped sinker like you but found it was near impossible to detect bites and in any sort of swell and your bait was washed back up on the beach.

The bottom around here stays fairly constantly small pebbles and sandy just right for all the species i like to target
Bring a couple weeks of warmer weather time for some eles and rig.

I got a heap of those sinkers from torpedo seven ….. like half price …wouldnt hesitate getting more when I need them

yeah I got some of those also, even when not on sale they are a reasonably good price, Hunting and fishing and the likes charge $4-5 a piece for the exact same sinkers.
