fishing around napier?

    Anyone know any good places around napier to fish?. and what species is likely at this time of year and what baits to use? thanks

    The water is usually a good place to start sammy boy use pillies and catch snapper

    I would probably trend towards smaller rather then larger hooks.

    Similar to what you would use for Rig… So between 40-80lb. From what I have read on the TT forums the beaches are shallow so should optimize rigs for distance casting.

    They catch Rig, sounds similar to the east coast of the SI.

    From memory, there is suppose to be good Sevengiller/tope fishing around Mahia Peninsula.

    Throw a thread up on the tackletatics forum, probably would get advice from people who fish there,
