have found a great substitute for crayfish baits is the humble prawn, a heck of a lot cheaper and easy to get.
Have caught good size rig and ele’s on cooked and raw

ParticipantYup they are king prawns, got a heap from countdown @ $9.95kg on special and packed them into trip sized bags.
I always tie baits on as it means you never have those casts where the bait flies off half way thru. You can either use them whole on a 2 hook rig (1/0keeper and 3/0 or 4/0 main hook) or just the tail on a single 3 or 4/0 hook.16/06/2007 at 6:15 pm #8202yellowfin

Does paua gut work well for fishing? Moki in particular? Managed to get some today! I’ve heard it works well for fishing if I remember correctly.
