I went to the Waimak last night (Tuesday) at 8:30, and there was what appeared to be a net across half of the river (judging by the two buoys in a line from the river bank), on the southern side where the main channel is, just before Brooklands lagoon. A boat came and checked it at 10:30pm. Surely there’ll be salmon getting caught in there at this time of the year (maybe that’s what they’re hoping for). I was under the impression that nets in rivers have to be parallel to the bank. Surely blatant plundering like that isn’t allowed..
yes as far as im away they hav to be parallel or going with the flow not across it
Dumb and crazy, watch out boats with props, or as bad as jet skiers towing biscuits around in the rievr or doing donuts 5m off shore.
