Hardly a dead weight, I had one a few weeks back that had about 4 runs that were all fast and unstoppable and took an hour to land and it wasn’t even that big. Try catch a fish in canturbury waters from land that will put up a better fight. A big ray will put up more of a fight than a kingfish any day, and what are your chances at catching one of them? Don’t compare stingrays to skate. Where are the pictures of rays you’ve landed? Seriously I don’t think you’ve seen how fast stingrays can move once they get going, and eagle rays even jump out of the water.
