They’re no fun at all when they take a heavy duty $15 shark rig (stainless, braided and roller swivels) then go sit on the bottom for the next six hours. Or chase your live bait all over the ocean trying to get over the top of it so they can eat it. Worst of all is when they lurk under the berley bag or suck on it all day so no small fish show up at all. I hate them. They’re relatively easy to tame so there’s not much sport in it really. If you consistently berley the same spot long enough (over the weeks or months) then eventually it will become a feeding station for the all the large rays in the area and they’ll hang around that spot.
