Ive caught a few skate off Birdlings..but heres a piccy of my biggest land based fight back in the late 80s..
it took 4 joggers going past to help lift it outa the water..a NZ herald journo came down to take this photo
-we measured at 6 foot five inches across..90kg was an estimate for this eagle ray..
