the canals don’t freeze that much over winter but somtimes they will, and only the REALY big trout and salmon are active in these months and somtimes not that much. i have ( yes i have caught trout and salmon before!!! ) caught big rainbows and salmon in them on a slightly cooked prawn and a small silver toby spinner
