The fishing pressure of the cod in the inner sounds is immense. You really have to get out into cook or the outer sounds to really guarantee a consistent supply of legal cod. Even then the fishing can be slow.
In the inner sounds the moment they reach legal size they are kept. If you know a few good holes, at times you should be able to get a couple of legal sized cods in the sounds.
