While on the subject of this past 2005/2006 salmon season Peter Ritchie who lives at the mouth of the Rangitata River reports the following: Peter caught four salmon for the season. He reports that it took him about 400 man hours per salmon landed. At something like 3 to 5 hours per day it took Peter 67 days to land his first salmon for the season.
